Job Description

We are seeking a skilled IT Desktop Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. In this crucial role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for end-users, expertly resolving hardware and software issues to ensure our Google Workspace, Windows, and macOS environments operate seamlessly.

Your responsibilities will encompass system setup, comprehensive hardware troubleshooting, software installation and updates, basic account management, and providing ongoing support for the essential tools our team relies on daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor system performance and user requests to identify and address issues before they impact productivity.
  • Provide front-line technical support and troubleshooting for Windows and macOS desktops and laptops.
  • Set up and configure Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet), Windows, and macOS for new hires, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Manage user account setup and deactivation for new and departing employees, including routine account creation and cleanup.
  • Install, configure, and update software across Windows and macOS systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues related to printers, monitors, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Act as the first line of support for network and connectivity problems, escalating to the broader IT team for complex issues.
  • Apply security patches and routine updates to maintain system currency and protection.
  • Monitor daily backup jobs, troubleshoot and resolve any failures, and assist with data recovery when necessary.
  • Track, prioritize, and document incoming support requests, and maintain the IT knowledge base with configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level to 2 years of experience in a dedicated IT support or helpdesk role.
  • Strong proficiency with Windows 10 and 11.
  • Familiarity with macOS (OSX) and Linux is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting iOS and Android devices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace administration and Microsoft 365 is a strong plus.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification is a plus but not required.
  • A strong sense of accountability, a desire to take ownership of responsibilities, and a coachable mindset that welcomes feedback and professional growth.
