Job Description
Join Focus Group, a rapidly expanding UK tech business, as a Cyber & IT Presales Engineer. This remote role offers a significant opportunity to shape the future of cybersecurity sales.
You will be the technical authority in the sales process for cybersecurity engagements, working closely with business development and account management teams. Your responsibilities will include scoping, designing, and presenting cybersecurity solutions to clients, from initial discovery workshops to proposal development.
This customer-facing position requires a blend of technical expertise and commercial acumen. You will be instrumental in positioning solutions such as MDR/EDR, SOC services, vulnerability scanning, and compliance frameworks like Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001.
We are looking for individuals with demonstrable experience in cyber presales or consultancy, ideally within an MSP or MSSP environment. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 and Defender suite, along with key compliance frameworks, is required.
This role is based in the UK Midlands or South, with comfortable travel to customer sites and offices. Up to £51,500 base salary with an OTE of £75,000 is offered, alongside a flexible, remote-first working environment and the chance to be part of a best-in-class presales team.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Run presales discovery calls and workshops to uncover security gaps, threat exposure, and compliance obligations.
- Design technically accurate, commercially sound cyber proposals.
- Position the right solutions, including MDR/EDR, SOC, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, email security, identity protection, and compliance frameworks.
- Present confidently to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support the wider sales team and mentor less experienced presales colleagues.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in a cyber security presales, consultancy, or technical advisory role, ideally within an MSP or MSSP.
- Comfortable in a boardroom and on a technical deep-dive call, with strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 and Defender suite.
- Familiarity with security awareness training.
- Familiarity with key compliance frameworks (Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+ or CySA+ are a bonus.
- Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework is a bonus.
- Based in the UK Midlands or South, and comfortable with regular travel.
